Business Holidays
None (open year-round)
Jigokudani Wild Snow Monkey Park does not have any set business holidays. However, we may temporarily shorten operating hours or close the park without prior notice due to unforeseeable causes such as weather conditions, snow monkey behavior and natural disaster situations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Monkey Visit Frequency
Jigokudani Wild Snow Monkey Park differs from a zoo in that we do not retain animals, but instead attract them through a regulated feeding routine. Our staff work to attract snow monkeys to the park during operating hours for observation, but the monkeys may not show up at all on certain days. We ask for your understanding in regard to our park’s operating style and circumstances. Monkey appearances are particularly sporadic in the autumn.
Monkeys do bathe in the park’s hot spring baths, but they do this as a means of staving off the cold during winter. They do not make use of the baths at all hours of day, nor do they frequent them throughout the year.
